What does CHESS-sponsored mean?
ASX describes a CHESS-sponsored holder as the person or entity registered in CHESS as the owner of securities. The holder is identified by a HIN, while the sponsoring participant maintains the record and processes instructions.

What does the CMA do?
Macquarie describes its CMA as an interest-earning account with funds accessible for investment opportunities. In the Volatility account structure, it is the linked cash account rather than the record of securities ownership.
